Legend of Maseri

The Story of Maseri

Two rather similar houses are each on the other side of the road on the shore of the picturesque Ähijärv. These houses used to belong to two brothers, one of which, Mihkel, was a real pepper tongue. Everything he said was sarcastic and sharp. He kept to himself and did not like guests.

The other of the two brothers, Lembit, was like a negative of Mihkel. He liked to tell jokes and people felt comfortable while being with him. He liked guests and was a lavish host.

The heirs of the Nummert family sold one of the farms (Lembit's) to the Pihts and the farm is called Maseri since then. Nevertheless, hospitality has not left the house. Maybe a benevolent fairy, let's say the Cake Fairy, has kept the tradition alive. The lavish hostess offers delicious home-made bread and other old and tasty farm dishes to all her guests.
