CLOSE TO NATURE

Nature is alive like us. If we believe that trees, plants, stones and all other nature is alive, we say it has a soul.
People do not see their soul but we feel it is in there somewhere. Maybe it can be seen in our eyes. Let's look into one another's eyes a bit more. When we look into the eyes of nature we can see amazing things.

Souls of nature are called fairies. Estonians have not named their fairies, except some. Fairies are what we imagine to be the souls of trees or plants.
Flying fairies with blue and pink dresses and magic wands, and gnomes are immigrants, foreigners in this land. Although they have settled in rather comfortably here, the old fairies of Estonians are still much more close to our hearts.

Our image of nature's souls is based on the characteristics of a certain tree, plant, stone, etc., their character and influence on their surroundings.
Not all humans feel nature in the same way because we are not similar, either. An oak tree may not give strength to everybody and an ash tree may not take it away. A person must find their own tree or plant. This search must be carried out with the help of our intuition and senses.

A long-long time ago, when science was not yet there to explain everything, people had to make sense of the world by observation, they had to use their senses and common memory. This is how legends and tales of genesis came into being.
If you know how to observe nature, you'll see that each plant, tree and stone is magical. Many fairy tales have begun from real natural things. The way people interpret these events is the basis for fairy tales.
Knowledge of the inner life of nature makes your life much more interesting.
Have many exciting discoveries in nature!

Experience trips with the Woods Crone

Experience trips with the Woods Crone are organised all year round. During these trips, the Woods Crone helps you sense nature in different ways and find out what people and nature have in common.
The aim of these trips is to make you think of the following:

  • is man a king of nature or a part of it
  • is nature a living organism

    The Woods Crone explains:

    • how can nature help you discover yourself,
    • what to think of herbs,
    • how to get help from trees and how trees affect people,
    • how it is possible to take over old beliefs and traditions without them being out-dated,
    • how the fairy tales and legends of nature people have come into existence and how can they be explained.

    The Woods Crone teaches:

    • exercises in nature to gain physical and emotional strength and to position your body and place

All the above will be explained with the help of local scenery, objects and phenomena - a big hill and spells, gaining strength from the earth and plants; ash grange and snake tales; spell cellar and chants, sensing fairyland - fairies and living organisms, a tree with a skirt and wishing-natural music instruments, campfire dinner (nettle soup, black pudding roasted on the campfire, fortune bread, herbal tea, etc. depending on the season) in the wigwam - instructions for making weed and herbal food, swings and climbing (up to 11 swings and climbing trees depending on the season), sensing trail, a wigwam with a soul instrument for solitary thoughts, a house on chicken legs.
The purpose of the trips with the Woods Crone is to experience nature using all your senses and to find a place in a natural environment, to think...
